Raising a family can be extremely challenging. But it’s also one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.

Today, there are many negative influences everywhere. That’s why you must spend a lot of time with your family. Because it’s your job to protect them while also encouraging spiritual growth.

Here are ways you can bring your family closer together and closer to God’s word.

Read God’s Word Together

Reading the Lord’s Scripture together is a great way to become closer to God. You’ll enable your family to also apply God’s teachings to their everyday life by reading the Bible with them. That’s why you must take some time out each day to read the Bible.

It’s easy to say we don’t have time to read the Bible together. But you have to make a plan and stick to it. You should also be creative so that your devotional time becomes engaging for your children.

It’s okay to start small. Just read a Verse every morning or before bedtime daily. Even regular reading will help bring your family closer to the Lord. Slowly, you can also encourage your children to study the Bible.

It’s good to start as early as possible. If your children are too young to read the Bible on their own, you can always read it to them. Read Jesus’ parables to your children because it’s a great way to get your children to retain the lessons in them.

Leverage Screen Time

Many parents tend to give their children a lot of screen time. Sometimes it’s not the best idea. Especially, when you don’t use parental control. But what if we tell you that screen time can also bring your children closer to the Lord?

Being distracted by screens can be a problem. But it won’t be if you introduce your children to a Bible app. There are many apps out there that are made for kids. It’s a simple and easy method to help them fall in love with God’s Word.

Pray Together as a Family

God blesses families that pray together. Young children are amazed by everything, so it’s wise to make use of that curiosity. If you start praying in front of them, they’ll be intrigued to learn more. Take advantage of this moment to tell them about what you’re doing and involve them.

You can also ask them about what they feel thankful for right now or if they want to give God a message.

Take Your Children to Church

Some people don’t take their children to the Church on Sundays because they talk loudly. But you must take your child to the Church regularly. If your child throws temper tantrums about going to Church, calmly explain to them. Don’t be angry at them or glare at them. This might make them hate going to Church. You can always go out to calm your toddler during a tantrum if you’re worried about annoying others.
