Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows; dark tunnels are filled with insecurities, fear, and anxiety. Luckily, God’s love shines right through, and we receive the love and consolation we need by mediating on Psalms in the Bible. These are particular verses written to give glory and praise to God, reminding us humans that there is nothing that He can’t do. God wants to help you through all your troubles and is willing even to carry all your burdens. So whenever you’re scared, tired, or anxious, rest in the power and glory of God by reading these Psalms:

Psalm 23

“God, You are my shepherd; I lack nothing. You make me lie down in green pastures; You lead me beside still waters, You restore my soul. You lead me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me! Your rod and your staff, they comfort me! You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Your house forever. Amen.”

Psalm 23 is one of the most reassuring and calming Psalms that tells us about the beauty of God’s love for us. Even the valley of death doesn’t seem scary when you trust him. We know that God is right by our side, and no evil can lurk around us. We take refuge and comfort in his presence, knowing that he will bless us until our cup overflows. Nothing in this world can harm you if God is by your side. Take some time to pray to God and ask Him for strength and courage.

Psalm 34

“I will bless You at all times; Your praise will continually be in my mouth. I sought You, Lord, and You heard me; You delivered me from all my fears. When we look to You, we are radiant. Your angels encamp all around those who fear You, and You deliver us. Help me to taste and see that You are good, oh Lord. You say I will be blessed when I trust You. Those who seek You lack no good thing.”

Another Psalm that talks about deliverance and protection is Psalm 34. It focuses on God being all light, and those that look to Him also come in the light. Whether you’re going through a relationship problem, job crisis, or even a personal battle, God will guide you through it, like how he helped others in the Bible and the people around you. The key to bravery is trusting the Lord.

Psalm 91

“You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91 is comforting; it tells us about the blessings of abiding in Christ. God is our rock, our stronghold, in whom we trust. Through all the storms that may come your way, holding on to the word of God will ensure you make it out stronger than before. When fear or anxiety kicks in, repeat this verse and reflect on it.
